UPDATE: Bognor sergeant ‘thankful’ shells were safe

Roads around the tip at Shripney Road were closed, as well as the tip itself, after what police believed to be two wartime shells were dropped off at Arun Business Park.
Speaking at the scene, sergeant Christian Thomas said: “We found a couple of old shells and cordoned off the tip.

Hide Ad“Thankfully they were empty shells so we didn’t have to do a full scale evacuation. The road and tip has now reopened.”
