OPEN DAY: At Littlehampton tennis club

A Littlehampton club is offering people the chance to give it a go, free of charge.

The Howard Lawn Tennis Club, in the sports field, St Flora's Road, is holding an open day on May 25.

Part of the sports ground for nearly 100 years, the organisation boasts four grass tennis courts and a club house.

Lynn Standing, chairman of the club, said: "Anyone coming along will be welcomed by our members, who will answer any questions and give elementary instruction if required.

"The day is for anyone who would like to try playing tennis on grass."

She added there was no need to book or bring balls, and anyone lacking a racquet can borrow one from the club.

"We provide a safe environment to enjoy friendly and competitive tennis," she added.

It will be open from 11am until 5pm.
