DRAMA: I'll Be Bert at Shoreham Ropetackle Arts Centre

FOOTBALL drama I'll Be Bert, on at the Ropetackle Arts Centre this month, is proving to be a hit.

Telling the story of a young schoolboy's admiration for legendary goalkeeper Bert Trautmann, the play has had sell-out dates across the country.

Bert Trautmann, an ex-German paratrooper, found fame and popularity among British football fans when he succeeded in helping his team, Manchester City, to FA Cup victory in 1956, playing on despite a severe neck injury.

The play is written and performed by Bill Cronshaw.

I'll Be Bert is on next Saturday, November 28, at 8pm.
