Young talent at soccer festival

WESTFIELD FC will welcome the cream of the regions young talent for their annual soccer festival this month.

The event is one of the largest in the South East and 199 teams from eight different countries are expected to take part.

One blow to the tournament however will be the non-appearance of Chelsea ace Gianfranco Zola whose son was due to play in the competition for Merton Vultures under 11s.

The team will now be in Cardiff however, as the Premiership striker has given his son's team tickets to the FA Cup Final on May 4, the first weekend of the competition.

The tournament starts on May 4 and extends to May 5, 6, 18 and 19.

Girls and boys from under 8s to seniors will be taking part.

Refreshments are available and there will also be a raffle featuring a football signed by the Brighton championship team. Matches run from 8am to 8pm over the five days.
