Watkins wants more of the same

BEXHILL United are hoping to build on a fine 3-0 win over basement club Uckfield Town as they take on faltering Ifield at the Polegrove on Saturday January 11.

A Sam Rimmer hat-trick saw off Uckfield and boss Len Watkins believes his charges are finally starting to approach their potential after recording their sixth win in 11 outings. He said: "We played well. We are seventh in the league - that's not the perfect place, I wanted to be in the top five at the start of the season but there's no reason why we can't achieve that."

Bexhill have yet to meet the Crawley-based side this season and Watkins admitted to being slightly in the dark about them. He added: "I think they have got quite a few games in hand but they are something of an unknown quantity."

Andy Copley is set to return to training after a broken toe. Kick-off is 2pm.
