Underdogs' life?

LANCING will be hoping that home advantage balances up their inferior league status when Oxfordshire club in the Hellenic League, North Leigh, arrive at Culver Road with £1,000 at stake.

The County League second division side's manager Sammy Donnelly said: "We're underdogs and it's good to pit our wits against a team that has set its sights on promotion and who should beat us. But we have no reason to fear them. We have everything to gain and nothing to lose."

Donnelly, however, is still waiting on the comeback of four players vital to his own would-be promotion plans this season: "I'm just hoping Mark Burt, Gavin Jones, Lee Cox and Dave Martin might be able to play because we are going to be without Chris Osbourne, who is unavailable."
