Sidley unbeaten run ended

SIDLEY United slumped to their first defeat of the season in the Sussex League on Saturday.

Returning to the ground where they completed the double last year proved anything but fruitful for the champions as Jason Lee put Selsey ahead after 15 minutes.

Paul Lee scored shortly before half-time and again on the hour to make sure of the points.

A late strike from Ray Bage gave new Bexhill Town boss Gary Light his first point in the Sussex Third Division.

Town were all over the visitors for the first 20 minutes before a breakaway shot from Garry Salter looped over keeper Dave Browning.

Town levelled when an excellent move down the right was finished by Nick Light from close range.

Beeding restored the lead in the second half when the linesman failed to flag a forward who was a good five yards offside. Browning brought him down and the resulting penalty was converted by Salter.

But just as it looked like game over for Town, Bage headed in a deep cross for the draw.
