Undefeated Scottish ended Ealing's unbeaten run at Richmond on Saturday by 14-8.

Not until late on did Worthing settle into a match they never looked like losing but they failed to lock up the result until then by squandering chances and failing to get the ball to the wings champing at the bit.

In the opening quarter, having failed to take advantage of some early penalties, then to make count a Daniel Davies surge because of poor decision-making and handling, they made life difficult for themselves by attempting to run possession out of their own 22.

The longer their superiority remained underlined, the more lethargy crept in and frustrated their considerable travelling support at The Reeves ground. It needed a Staines penalty from fly-half David Knill to sting them into resolve and after this folowed another wasted opportunity, Ben Coulson soon punished midfield offside to make it 3-3 in the first half.
