RUSTINGTON ABOUT TO CREATE HISTORY?

RUSTINGTON Football Club comprehensively made the Division 3 Cup final with a stunning demolition job of Newhaven in the opening 32 minutes on Friday night.

Already the holders, they will look to be the first ever team to retain their trophy when they play either Lingfield or Hurstpierpoint on Good Friday.

It took Rustington just three minutes to take the lead. Dave Oakes' deep cross was missed by the returning James Highton, but the ball hit Sean Duffy's shoulder and flew past Newhaven keeper Danny Breach.

Duffy was causing Newhaven all sorts of problems and got his second just eight minutes later. Adam Bibb threaded a delightful through ball and Duffy coolly shot across Breach to double his sides lead.
