In the West Sussex Billiards League match held at the Clayton and Keymer Royal British Legion, Mid Sussex fought hard against a strong Worthing outfit but to lose out 3 frames to 1.

The Middies skipper Ian Janman opened up confidently with a 51 being the top break of night, Jason Alford dug in but could not contain Janman who moved on to win 200-175.

The visitor’s Lee Kitonia equalised with a 200-168 win over Ken Warren then saw his colleague Jason Goodwin defeat Barry Martin 200-156, Goodwin securing a 31 break in the process.

It was left to the host’s Stuart Williamson to gain the draw but his brave effort was in vain when he narrowly missed out to Mick Lott going down 200-191, the referees were Dennis Wakeford and Maurice Wickens.
