Lutters' triple blast shocks Steyning

ANDY LUTWYCHE'S inspired spell of bowling lifted Worthing Cricket Club off the bottom of the table with a 101-run win over high-flying Steyning on Saturday.

Lutwyche, playing cricket instead of for the town's football club, took three wickets in seven balls without conceding a run to blow away Steyning's middle order. Dave Guest was out lbw to the first ball of the 20th over which left Steyning 61-3.

Three balls later, Lutwyche snapped up a return catch offered by Gary Hunt and with the first ball of the next over, he dismissed Steyning's big-hitting Australian Evan Miller, again lbw.

Lutwyche said: "It's the first time I've ever bowled away-swingers in my career because of the ridiculously strong wind going across the pitch. I was shattered after bowling 13 overs against it."
