HOW DID YOUR SEASON GO?

THE END of the football season is upon us, and it is common practice to reflect on the sort of year the area's senior clubs have had.

Pride of place must go to Roger Brace's Shoreham. They led Division Two of the County League from the start, and even had time to suffer a mini-wobble before pulling themselves back together and claiming promotion back to the top flight.

Three of their players have stood out, for me, this season. Firstly, centre-back Nigel Silverlock, who decided at the end of the year to call it quits because of a knee injury. His steadying influence at the back was a major factor in Mussels' rise to the upper echelons.
