Golf charity day goes with a swing

THE Bexhill Rotary Club raised a staggering £3,750 for various charities at their annual charity tournament at Cooden Beach Golf Club.

Twenty-one teams of four took to the fairways and played sparkling golf over the well-respected course.

The Peter Johnson Motor Body Repairs team of Trevor Wood, Terry Harris, Graham McDonough and John Hannah were the eventual winners of the Stableford competition with a remarkable haul of 93 points, pipping the HSBC team by a solitary point.

Organiser Alan Buontempo hailed an excellent day, saying: "It went extremely well and the scoring was very good. Everyone had a great day and the weather was lovely. We had a terrific comedian in the evening and we are going to do it again next year."
