Glynde seek revenge in Trophy

GLYNDE take on Crowhurst Park in the final of the Inter Sport of Lewes Trophy at Fletching CC on Saturday (1pm start) and are out for revenge.

In last season's final Park beat Glynde by 26 runs. Park were dismissed for 169 as Joe Adams took 5-33, but they could only reach 143-9 in reply.

Glynde made no mistake in Saturday's semi-finals when they beat Ringmer by six wickets. Richard Thomas made 68, Murray Barnett 31 and Neil Thornicroft 25 for the hosts in a total of 183-8, Dale Tranter taking 3-21, Adams 3-37 and Dominic Shepheard 2-25. Adams then cracked 82 and Rob Mouland 59 not out to see Glynde comfortably home.

In the other semi-final division three side Rye gave Crowhurst Park a real scare before they got home by ten runs.

Park made 233-9 in their 40 overs as Corey Yearwood hit 93 in a second-wicket partnership of 125 with Peter Eames (47). Rye chalked up an opening stand of 132 from 23 overs as John Osborne made 57 and Jay Hamilton 56 but the underdogs fell just short.

In the Plate semi-final Seaford crushed Lewes St Michaels by 226 runs. Seaford totalled 281-8 and the hosts were dismissed for just 55, a total that included 22 extras.

In Saturday's final Seaford will play Heathfield Park, who had a bye in last Saturday's semi-final after Barcombe scratched.
