Rye game postponed

The Sussex RUR Charity Cup quarter-final has succumbed to a waterlogged pitch following the latest band of wet weather and will be rearranged, no doubt for some time next month.

Although they played away to Shoreham in Sussex County Football League Division One on Saturday, eight of Rye’s last 11 scheduled fixtures since mid-December have been called-off.

The Quarterboys have only just reached the midway point in their league programme and are still involved in two knockout competitions so a busy final three months of the campaign lies in store once again.
