A brace from George Landais, an own-goal and strikes from Michael Hendrick and Richard Greenfield helped Golds progress.

However, despite the emphatic victory, Littlehampton boss Mark Bennett still feels there is room for improvement from his team.

He said: “It was a really good win for us, although I don’t think we played that well, to be honest.

“We created so many chances in the game and just failed to take them, which we need to improve on.

“It’s pleasing that we are creating these openings but we need to take them.

“Against tougher opposition, we would not get as many opportunities and will need to take our chances.

“But the result is all that matters in the cup and we managed to get the win.”

It was Golds who began the brighter and they should have gone ahead through George Gaskin, but he shot wide from four yards with the goal gaping.

Hendrick did put Golds in front just a minute before the break, though, with a left-foot drive after Landais played him in.

It was 2-0 four minutes after the break when Mitchell Hand’s cross was punched into his own net by Epsom keeper Jack Witts, under pressure from Liam Humphreys.

Landais then bagged his first with a right-foot finish from a tight angle, following another Hand cross.

The hosts got themselves back into the game with goals from Aaron Williams and Wayne Catchart.

However, Landais grabbed his second when he latched on to a Frangou header and finished at the second attempt, after Witts stopped his first shot.

Richard Greenfield rounded off the scoring in injury-time when his 25-yard free kick evaded everyone in the box and trickled into the net.
