Bennett and his assistant from Golds, Richie Hellen, have replaced Jon Tucker at the Lions.

Tucker, who guided Wick & Barnham United to promotion into the top flight of the Southern Combination Football League last season, was sacked as Pagham boss on Monday evening after a run of two wins in ten league games.

The Lions moved quickly to appoint Bennett and Hellen, who guided Littlehampton to the SCFL title last season.

Pagham chairman Tony Shea said: “Whilst we as a club are sad to part company with Jon, we feel the time is right to make a change.

“The committee felt that recent results were not up to expectations that we have set in the first half of the season.

“We are delighted to name Mark and Richie as the new management team here at Nyetimber Lane. Mark enjoyed a fantastic spell in charge of Littlehampton Town and we look forward to progressing as a club both on and off the pitch under his management.”
