Breaking news: Away start for Hastings

Hastings United will begin their 2014/15 season with a trip to Walton Casuals.

The Ryman Football League revealed its fixtures this morning (Thursday) and the U’s will kick-off their Division One South campaign at Walton on Saturday August 9.

United’s first home game will be against Whitstable Town two days later and they will be back at The Pilot Field the following Saturday against Chipstead.

It promises to be a hectic start to the season with six league matches scheduled for August and a further nine lined-up for September, which should mean less of a backlog at the end of the campaign.

United have a home game against Ramsgate on Boxing Day and a trip to Hythe Town on New Year’s Day. The Easter Monday fixture is away to Ramsgate.

In other standout matches, United will face Guernsey on October 11 (home) and February 28 (away), and Folkestone Invicta - the team which narrowly beat them in the play-off semi-finals last season - on September 29 (home) and February 14 (away).
