FA Cup exit for Ladies

BEXHILL United Ladies fell at the first hurdle in the FA Women's Cup on Sunday when they were beaten 4-2 by Horley Town.

United found themselves two down after just 20 minutes in this preliminary round tie at the Polegrove before Rachel Dangerfield halved the deficit at the interval.

Tina Wilson levelled the scores by heading home a deep cross from Laura Bolton on 64 minutes. At that stage United looked set to drive on for the win but their attacks were continually frustrated by a solid visiting defence.

With little less than a quarter of an hour remaining United were caught out at the back which enabled a Horley forward to lob the ball into the net. United pressed forward in search of an equaliser and conceded a fourth two minutes from time.

United return to league action tomorrow (Saturday) at home to UKP Ladies, kick-off 2pm.
