Easter marked the end of the winter season at Lewes Golf Club and, after nearly six months of weekly competition in all weathers, the outcome of the Winter Eclectic series was finally decided.

Overall winner in the men’s competition was Nigel Couchman, with Richard Baker coming up on the rails to grab second place and Toby Fricker third.

In the final weekend of the series, Ian Moore had made 38 to take the weekly winnings, ahead of Toby Fricker and third placed Andrew Hulston, who both scored 36.

The Saturday before Peter Clingen had top scored with 40 points, followed by Dave Windless (38) and Arthur Ross (37).

Judy Keys took the prize on countback in a Ladies Cancer Relief Stableford after both she and Mandy Quick finished on 26. Maggie Neve (25) was only a point behind in third.

In the annual Ladies & LOGS Greensomes competition - LOGS stands for Lewes Old Golfers and is the name used by the Club’s senior men - Jean Fears and Peter Wright were clear winners with 40 points. Second place went to the pairing of Hilary Osman and Brian Duke, who made 36.
