Depleted EP go down to Hawks

WITH NINE players ruled out, East Preston FC boss Chris White could not have expected Saturday to get any worse for his side.

However, by half-time, he had made all three substitutions and then saw his team concede a wonder goal at league leaders Whitehawk.

Missing for EP on Saturday were Jay Head, Leo Day, Tom Levitt, James Rhodes, Roy Pook and Sean Edwards (all unavailable) and James Virgo and Sonny Banks (injured).

Defender Des Guile was late for kick off, as EP knew he would be, and he replaced White's son, Simon, who was helping EP out for the game, after half an hour. It ended up being a double substitution, though, with another EP debutant, Byron Harrison, leaving the field on a stretcher.

With Ryman League side Worthing not having a game, White had brought in Rebels' Steve Metcalf and Harrison. Harrison damaged ankle ligaments and his strike-partner, Dan White, went off at half-time after sustaining a hamstring injury.
