Park going back to basics

Crowhurst Park will be going “back to basics” to halt a poor run of results in Sussex Cricket League Division Three (East).

Park have lost three and drawn one of their last four matches to tumble down to fourth in the table after winning three on the spin earlier in the campaign.

Their latest reverse came away to Lindfield where Park skipper Paul Lindfield said: “We bowled the wrong line and batted with no intensity.

“We’re not having the best run at the moment, we’ve got a few injuries but all teams have that and we’ve got some good back-up players. We just need to go back to basics and that means bowling the right lines and batting with intensity. That’s all we need to do differently.”

Park will be hoping to get their season back on track when they take on leaders Crawley at Telham tomorrow (Saturday).

“We’re not far behind and I’ve said all season no-one is going to run away with it,” Lindfield went on.

Key batsman Dale Bryant could return after damaging his hamstring but bowler Richard Coleman is likely to be out for a few weeks after injuring his back.
