Clymping captain James Salisbury said: “It was a good game of cricket. We bowled first after winning the toss and only got them six down as they had a couple of good batting performances.

“We missed a couple of chances that might have made a difference but, on a quick outfield and a good wicket, we felt we had a chance of chasing it down but fell just short, although we took a winning draw out of it.”

Littlehampton skipper Dan Rive said: “It was a very good game of cricket. In their innings, they looked more likely to win until we got Sam Varcoe out.

“Once we got him, they didn’t have enough firepower to get the last few runs.

“Our batting seems to be like chalk from cheese from the start of the season.”
