CLYMPING TAKE TITLE

A DRAW in their final West Sussex League Division Two South game was always going to be sufficient to ensure Clymping of the title, and ultimately, intermediate football next season.

On Monday night, they managed to hold their only challengers Chichester Hospitals to a 1-1 draw and thus capture the divisional crown. Earlier this season, Clymping had lost in both the Sussex Junior Cup semi-final and the League.

Having led after 54 minutes, when top scorer Bobby Pretlove chipped the Hospitals' keeper, Stuart Stoneham completed a couple of excellent saves in the Clymping goal to keep them ahead.
