Women’s bodies found at the bottom of Sussex cliffs

The women were found at the bottom of Rushy Hill, in Peacehaven, where the incident was being handled by Sussex Police, Newhaven Coastguard Rescue Team, Newhaven RNLI, and also a HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter.
A HM Coastguard spokesperson said, “HM Coastguard has this morning been assisting Sussex Police with an incident at Rushy Hill, Peacehaven.

Hide Ad“Newhaven Coastguard Rescue Team, Newhaven RNLI Lifeboat and the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Lydd were sent.”
A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “Sussex Police, assisted by the coastguards, retrieved the bodies of two women from the cliffs at The Highway in Peacehaven on Monday morning.
“Sadly, both women were declared dead at the scene. Formal identification has yet to have taken place.”
