Why I'm winning my war against leukaemia

A NINE-year-old boy who has been battling with leukaemia for nearly three years today pleaded for Worthing Hospital to remain open.

Alexander Warne told his emotional story as he left the hospital following his latest course of chemotherapy for the condition more simply known as cancer of the blood.

Standing with his mum Julie, who was amazed her son had such a strong opinion and vast knowledge of his condition, the Chesswood Middle schoolboy said if Worthing Hospital closed it would be a "nightmare".
