George Sunderland, Heathlands

Services at St John’s Church, Westfield for next Sunday, February 2, the services are Holy Communion (BCP) at 8am and Holy Communion with JAM and Ignite (for young people) at 9.30am

Westfield Church organised a barn dance last Saturday as part of the Plough Sunday week-end. It was a great evening, with live music, good dancing, and a most superior ploughman’s supper to enjoy. The Plough Sunday service saw an old-fashioned horse-drawn plough brought into the church to be blessed. Two classic tractors with ploughs had also been parked at the church to be admired. It was lovely to take part in the revival of this traditional English celebration of the beginning of the agricultural year.
