Village legion fair

The Women's Section of the Royal British Legion at Little Common hosted their Spring Fayre on Saturday.

There were a wide variety of colourful stalls selling books, jewellery, homemade cakes, locally grown plants and a bumper raffle.

Treasurer Mrs Joan Berry said they were "delighted with the support received from the 154 people who attended."

They raised over 900 - a donation from which will go to the Women's Benevolent Fund at the British Legion Headquarters. The fund helps widows and dependents of ex-Servicemen and women.

Mrs Berry said: "Our donation to the fund last year was 3,000.00 and so far this year we have reached 1,200. We would like to thank everyone for their support and for the raffle prizes which were all kindly donated by local people."
