UPDATE: Man bailed following Barnham shooting

A MAN who was arrested for a firearms offence following a shooting in Barnham has been released on bail.

The 33-year-old, who was detained yesterday (Tuesday, October 14), for possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and assault has been released on bail until November 11.

The man was arrested at an address in Appletree Drive after a 54-year-old man who is known to him suffered a minor injury to his chin after being shot in Gospond Road at about 7.30am.

He went to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, for treatment.

Officers have carried out searches in the area and have recovered a paint ball pistol linked to the incident.

No one else is being sought in connection with the shooting but police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area during the early hours of October 14.
