TRAVEL: Major disruption to area’s railways after person hit by train

Railway operator Southern has announced a number of delays and cancellations to services between Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

The 2.11pm Littlehampton to Bognor Regis has been cancelled while the 3.11pm will run as scheduled, Southern said.

The 2.39pm Bognor Regis to Barnham has been cancelled. However, it is anticipated that the later 3.39pm will run as normal.

Other cancellations include the 3.07pm from Bognor Regis to Littlehampton.

The disruption was caused after a person was hit by a train at 9.30am, on the level crossing on Eastern Avenue.

They were pronounced dead at the scene, British Transport Police said.
