VIDEO UPDATE: Road re-opens after lorry collides with shop in Storrington

A road in Storrington has re-opened after being closed for several hours due to a collision between a lorry and a shop.

The A283 High Street was blocked off this morning (Friday February 13) at around 10.30am after an articulated lorry collided with a shop near the mini roundabout, causing long delays.

The vehicle severely damaged the roof of the Sweet Fashion store and became stuck in the road for several hours.

Police managed to move the lorry at around 12.30pm and the road was opened soon after.

Firefighters also added no one had been trapped in the collision.

Owner of the Sweet Fashion shop Natasha Walker said she was devastated about the damage to the store and was unsure when the shop would open again.

She added: “I am just thankful the shop was empty at the time and no one was hurt.”
