Tighter control called for on new windows

A BEXHILL councillor says there should be tighter controls on new windows installed in Victorian and Edwardian houses.

Cllr Deirdre Williams, Rother district councillor for Sackville Ward, said she felt 'very strongly' about windows varying in styles and materials being approved for houses from the era.

Cllr Williams says she felt the designs should be 'more uniform'

She added: "It spoils much of the frontage of these houses.

"It's a shame there's no enforcement of this kind of thing."

Her comments came as her colleagues on the planning committee approved new white UPVC windows for a flat in an Edwardian house in Magdalen Road.
