Take action against pop millionaire, say residents

Adversane residents claim that musician Mike Stock is blatantly breaching planning laws and are demanding that Horsham District Council's director of development control should take strong enforcement action.

Feelings are running so high in the tiny hamlet that furious residents called a meeting at the weekend to discuss the situation.

The issue goes back to 2001, when song writer and music publisher Mike Stock applied for permission for an abattoir and a house on his land at Steepwood Far in Adversane Lane.

Permission was granted for a second house on condition thatn two cottages on the land were demolished and the farmhouse was not completed until the abattoir had been completed.

The abattoir was never built and in January of this year planners were concerned when Mr Stock submitted another abattoir application for the site and they heard that the large farmhouse had been built and occupied for two years.
