Students celebrate in style at glitzy leavers ball

STUDENTS from Claverham Community College managed to dodge the rain and celebrated the end of school with the traditional end of year ball, held at the PowderMills Hotel in Battle last Friday.

Students arrived in style as a stream of vintage cars, trucks, army jeeps, a Ferrari, Lamborghini, motorbikes and a horse and carriage wound their way down the drive.

There was even a ‘kidnapping’ with two students arriving out of the back of a van driven by masked men.

The students looked more like celebrities in their evening attire as drinks were held on the lawn before a two course meal, followed by a chocolate fountain dessert supplied by Sovereign Balloons.

Students were able to have professional photographs taken by Jon Firth throughout the night.

The leavers and staff then danced the night away to a live band fronted by Mr Cross and Mr Tomlinson who both teach at Claverham.

Mr Swatton, school principal, and all the staff wished the Year 11 students the very best for their pending exam results and the future.
