The facility, in Lintot Square, was unveiled by West Sussex county councillor Brad Watson and Southwater Parish Council’s chairman, Peter Buckley, on Friday March 6.

As part of the refurbishment, which was jointly funded by the two authorities, the existing Southwater Youth Club has been moved to what was the first floor of the library, while five small offices have been created across two floors.

It is hoped that the creation of these small office units will assist in the economic growth within the community for small businesses.

The income from the office accommodation will assist the parish council and its partners in the delivery of the library, youth project, and other community based projects.

A further small community room has also been provided to help village groups looking for a meeting space for a variety of clubs and activities in Southwater.

The Friday Luncheon Club will also be moved to Beeson House from Southwater Leisure Centre on Friday April 10.

The Southwater Youth Project has set the way locally and the concept is now being adopted other local parishes within the Horsham district, and is a good example of joint working between the parish council, Southwater Community Methodist and United Reformed churches, to provide services for residents of the parish.

For enquiries about the office accommodation call the parish council clerk Catherine Tobin on 01403 733202.
