SING-A-SVEN FOR CHRISTMAS

SEAFORD musician and Sven Goran Eriksson lookalike Chris Conil hopes to make the Christmas top ten with a tongue-in-cheek song about the former England football manager.

Along with lyricist Mike Green from Telscombe Cliffs, Chris has penned the music for Spent/Gone Erik's Song.

Chris said: 'We have had a lot of interest from quite a lot of record companies and it is all coming together as a project.

'As long as Sven stays in the news, the whole idea might carry on.'

Mike is no stranger to the music industry being the brother of Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, the 1970s group who enjoyed a number of hits.

He advertised for singers and a group has now been formed to record the Sven song.

The group call themselves CC Amore and the Spenettes. Chris takes the role of Sven while Linda Carroll stands in for his on-off girlfriend Nancy Dell'Olio.

Katie Neiman and Lizzy Woolmer will provide the backing singing while Zoe Clay plays the saxophone.
