Road sign improvement at South Bersted C of E Primary School

Road signage improvements are being made outside South Bersted C of E Primary School in a bid to enhance pupil safety.

Work starts on Monday for the 9,800 West Sussex County Council School Safety Zone scheme.

It will involve lowering kerbs making it easier for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and tactile paving to help the visually impaired cross the road.

Bollards will also be put in on both pavements near the school's entrance. New 'School Keep Clear' road markings will be painted to encourage drivers to park considerately.

The works in Church Lane are scheduled to take up to five days to complete and will be carried out Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm. This may continue on Saturday from 8am to 1pm. On-street parking may be restricted during this period and temporary traffic lights will be operating.
