VILLAGE SUMMER FAIR: The fair is being held tomorrow (Saturday) at Ringmer Village Hall from 2pm to 5pm. There will be fun and games for all the family, cream teas and ice creams, competitions, raffles, crafts, food, books and a cake stall. The afternoon supports the village hall and lots of other local organisations, so please come along and join in the fun.

ST MARY’S: Sunday services at St Mary’s, 8am Holy Communion, 10am Parish Eucharist, 6.30pm Evensong. Men’s Club meets on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the church room with a guest speaker on the subject of bee keeping. It should be a fascinating talk and members and guests are very welcome. Work is starting on Monday on replacing the bricks in the paths from the Lichgate to the porch and from the path to the gate leading to the Green.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday June 29, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Alan Disney and Roy Skan; 3, Valerie and Peter King. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

FOOTBALL CLUB: On Thursday evening it is the regular monthly general knowledge pub quiz. This is held in the bar of the Caburn Pavilion at 7.30pm for a prompt 8pm start. This is a fun evening with teams of four (ish) and costs just £1 per team member to enter. The first friendlies begin on Saturday July 16 when the firsts are at home to Chipstead FC with a 3pm kick off at the Caburn. The seconds also have their first friendly on July 16 when they play Willingdon Athletic on the Lewes 3G pitch. The Club’s AGM takes place on Thursday July 21 at the Caburn Pavilion with registration at 7.30pm for a prompt 8pm start.

SUMMER SHOW: A reminder that Ringmer Horticultural and Home Produce Society will be holding their annual summer show on Saturday July 16 in the village hall. There is free entry to the show from 2pm. There are many classes detailed in the schedule. Copies are available around the village or from Chris Browning (e-mail: [email protected] mobile: 07849840053) Exhibitors are reminded that entries must be submitted before 7pm on Thursday July 14.
