After recently being helped out by the local station, the Rye Retreat desperately wanted to give something back.

Owner Jenny Sperring says: “Every year we try to do something for charity; over the years we have done everything from Dragon Boat racing to a champagne reception for St Michael’s Hospice. This time we jumped at the chance to support our fire-fighters with this fun, fashion filled afternoon.

“The Cinque Ports Lindy Hoppers will be performing, kick starting our vintage themed event.

“The Hair and Fashion show will include vintage clothes by Udimore Garage Antiques and models from Rye Community Primary and Rye Community College, up and coming professional models, Rye Rugby Club and of course our inimitable fire fighters.

“Refreshments will be available for purchase in the form of a fully stocked bar from the Pantiles catering company. A cupcake stall will be offering sweet treats made by three Rye Retreat girls.”

“The Gallivant Hotel and Beach Bistro are sponsoring this by generously donating all the ingredients. “Please come and support your local community. We look forward to seeing you there.”

Tickets cost £10 and are available from The Rye Retreat.
