Programme snapshot of carnival history
John, of Arthur Road, Bexhill, who served the carnival for some 40 years, said: "One of the things that intrigued us was seeing what was on in the way of entertainment at the De La Warr Pavilion. With some controversy over what's being staged these days, it provided an interesting comparison. We certainly remember many of the shows back in the 1980s attracting big audiences and packing people in."
The Cox's hoped by bringing the 1982 programme in - admission to the carnival then was just 10p - it might stir memories for others and prompt debate as to whether old or new is best.
