Why I should be MP for Hastings: Tony Smith, UKIP

Tony Smith sets out his vision for Hastings

Voters are fed up with career politicians and yearn for someone to represent them uncontaminated by years of failed promises, like the Lisbon Treaty referendum promise, failure to keep post offices open and failure to narrow the gap between rich and poor.

As the UK Independence MP I would come with a lifetime of work experience in the navy, in education as head teacher for disabled children, scientist, founder and trustee of the Brownbread Horse Rescue, founder and chairman of the 1066 Business Club and trustee of the Hastings Mediation Service.

I have worked as a floor cleaner, a stevedore, a nurseryman, a scrap-yard worker, a horse transporter, a knight in historical documentaries and in farming.

Such experience enables me to help solve problems for folk in all walks of life.

My business interests in the area demand that I find ways to improve the standard of living in the community.

With the 6.4 billion from the non-payment of EU membership I will lobby for more beat-police, less under-age alcohol availability, road-cobbling improvements in Rye, duelling the A21, promote Hastings as an art and tourism centre and repeal the Common Fisheries Policy to revive the Hastings fishing industry.

I oppose the wasting of public money on flawed wind-generation projects.
