Why I should be MP for Hastings: Nick Perry, Liberal Democrats

On May 6 we have the chance to do something different '“ to change our country for the better.

If you, the voters, send more Liberal Democrat MPs to Westminster, it will be impossible to ignore Nick Clegg's demands for fair taxes, a fair start for our children, a fairer and greener economy, and a fair political system.

People are tired of New Labour's broken promises, and have little faith in a Conservative Party that has let down Hastings before.

From my work in mental health care locally, I know that there is still poverty and inequality in our community.

I am ready to tackle these problems and challenges, and passionate that we, the people of Hastings, fulfil our potential.

Our children deserve the chance to grow up in a successful, healthy and diverse community.

As the Lib Dem candidate since 2007, I have shown that I will be a strong voice for us at Westminster. I have fought alongside our fishermen, lobbied against unfair hospital parking charges and campaigned for better transport links. But there is so much more to do.
