Police name woman who died in Rye crash

THE woman who died after a road collision in Rye on Tuesday has been named by police.

62-year-old Sandra Collison, of Holmwood Farm Lane, Camber, was driving her blue Peugeot 107 along the A259, Royal Military Road towards Rye, when it was in collision with a white Mercedes goods van travelling in the opposite direction.

The woman died at the scene of the accident.

The van driver, a 51-year-old Maidstone man, received minor injuries and was taken to the Conquest Hospital at Hastings for treatment.

A Sussex Police spokesman said; “We are still appealing for any witnesses to contact our Road Policing Investigation Unit at Lewes via 101 quoting Operation Solent.

“Alternatively please email ‘[email protected]’.”

An inquest is expected to be formally opened and adjourned within the next few days.
