Attractive Cally is among the contestants chosen for this month's heat of the TeenqueenUK 2009 competition.

She is vying with 38 other hopefuls on the contest's website to be selected for the beauty pageant's final next July.

To get that coveted place she needs the support of people around the town. Only the three girls from each age group who gain the most votes by text or phone will be chosen for the glittering occasion. It is set to be filmed by C4.

Cally, who moved from Collyers Avenue to Chichester Road in North Bersted on Tuesday, said: "I've always wanted to be a model. A lot of my friends said I have the cheekbones and the jawline for it. I feel I am getting somewhere now and I'm happy I've got this far in competition."

Size ten Cally hopes that doing well in the event will also show the beauty industry is moving away from its controversial size zero culture.

Voting for Cally closes at midday on January 1. Anyone wanting to back her should text her first name and surname separated by a space to 84205. Landline votes can be cast on 0901 656 1515 with her entry number which is 31.
