Young Eastbourne chess players celebrate ‘outstanding results’
Twelve students from Eastbourne Junior Chess club took part in the Sussex Junior Grand Prix chess tournament at St Catharine’s College on February 1.
Outstanding results were achieved. Batuhan Kaya won the top section (Major) U-18.
Tadeusz Tompsett won Minor section U-18. Yoting Wang was second, and Samuel Merchant fourth in U-11 Minor section.
Run by Woman Fide Master Rasa Norinkeviciute Donovan, The club is celebrating seven years this April.
