Hide AdFollowing the incident, the fire service has issued warnings and advice to help keep home owners safe in the event of a chip pan fire.
"If you do have a fire in the kitchen, don't take any risks - get everyone out of your home and call 999,” the advice reads.
The fire service has also warned homeowners not to move pans if they happen to catch fire, to turn the heat off if it is possible to do so, to cover the flames with a fire blanket, and to avoid the temptation of a fire extinguisher, which can actually spread this kind of fire, and to leave extinguished fires well alone to cool.
