Huge tree blows over in Hastings park blocking footpath

A massive fir tree has fallen victim to the high winds and crashed into the Swannery lake at Alexandra Park.

The fall is thought to have happened overnight as winds gusted up to 40mph. It has completely blocked the well-used footpath by the lake. On Monday the bad weather resulted in an oak tree falling across Upper Park Road and blocking the entrance to the Harmers layby at the park. It was removed by Hastings Borough Council.
