How many people have received their Covid-19 vaccine in Hastings so far? Here are the latest figures

Patients started receiving their jabs at the Hastings Centre, on The Ridge, on January 9.

As of Tuesday night (January 19), the centre had vaccinated a total of 2,750 people, with more being vaccinated on Wednesday morning (January 20). The figures were confirmed by Jon Merrick, the manager of the Hastings and St Leonards Primary Care Network, a network of GP practices, some of which are working together to provide Covid vaccines in Hastings.

The Hastings Centre is currently administering about 1,200 vaccines per week but anticipates this will increase, with an increased supply of vaccines, up to 3,000 injections per week.

In addition to those vaccinated at the Hastings Centre, another 550 residents living in nursing and care homes across Hastings have received their jabs. More than 200 staff members have also been vaccinated, according to Mr Merrick.

The Hastings roll out is following national guidelines and is currently offering vaccines first to those aged over 80 along with healthcare workers, and will then progress through the government-prescribed cohorts, in order.

The vaccination service is accessible by appointment only and all patients will be contacted and offered a vaccine as quickly as possible.

The Hastings Centre Covid-19 vaccination service will provide for the entire of the population of Hastings and St Leonards.

In addition to the Hastings Centre and care/nursing homes, people are also receiving vaccines at Conquest Hospital, which is being used as a vaccine hub. Statistics from Conquest Hospital have not yet been made available.
