PEASMARSH FLOWER FESTIVAL: What a great success this weekend’s Flower Festival at the Church has been! The team of “arrangers” orchestrated by Dee Bull transformed the church, and it was wonderful to welcome a number of newcomers who brought fresh ideas and new enthusiasm. We hope to see a lot more of them! Faced with Audrey Dent’s absence due to her accident (and we are delighted to hear she is making good progress and should be home by the time this report is published) there was generous support from those who bake and those able to give a couple of hours to helping serve refreshments and look after the plant stall. Thanks are also due to those who transported and erected the marquee, polished chairs and furniture and acted as stewards in the church. On Saturday evening the Peasmarsh and District Ladies’ Choir gave an excellent concert with songs ranging from madrigals to spirituals and West Side Story - well done ladies! On Sunday morning the church was filled for the Family Communion Service which culminated with a wonderful procession with the children who had taken part in the service flourishing the Pentecost banners and streamers they had made. Not least, the residents of Peasmarsh and the surrounding villages came to enjoy the festival, the flowers, the food and the fellowship. It was good to see so many familiar faces – but also to welcome those who visited the festival for the first time and found it such a lovely experience. See you next year!
