Patchwork pre-school free childcare

The nursery in London Road faced closure this year because of financial difficulties but is now taking part in a government-funded pilot scheme which could lead to a new lease of life.

Patchwork can now offer free childcare for three hours a day, Monday to Friday, to any boy or girl over the age of three.

The nursery, which is run inside the guide hut, is licensed to take 26 children, and the small team of staff has over 60 years childcare experience between them.

Anyone interested is inivited to drop by or ring 07752 650757 and speak to one of the supervisors. If the uptake is successful it is hoped the pre-school can expand and employ new staff, enabling them to look after even more children.
